
SSJ-Taiso
SSJ-Taiso is a traditional series of exercises used by the Samurai Warriors to give them a balance of stillness and movement with flexibility, strength and breath.
The Samurai warriors of old did not get the chance to use elaborate fitness regimes prior to battle, so they needed to maintain a permanent state of readiness, and be in good all round condition. To achieve this they used a series of exercises that would be easy to perform, but offer the maximum in return.
SSJ-Taiso is a free flowing movement of the body, mind and breath that will enhance your performance on a day to day basis.
The purpose of SSJ-Taiso is to be in your best condition possible whilst leading a relatively normal balanced lifestyle.
A normal SSJ-Taiso session lasts for 45 minutes, covering:
Meditation
Breathing
Energy work
Stretching
Basic Principles of Centre, Balance and Gravity are used to create a solid foundation for our movement.
